| Description |
Postcard Photograph of Flesherton Public School in 1903. Students are standing on south steps. The school -- still standing in 2007 but privately owned and falling into severe disrepair -- is located on a hill on the west side of Highway #10 just north of South Grey Museum and the Boyne River bridge. Built in 1891 for about $1000 on land donated by WK Flesher (for whom Flesherton is named) the large, three room yellow brick building served as the community's elementary school until 1970, when students were moved to the first new Macphail Memorial School on Campbell Street, Flesherton. |
