Description Pair of woolen gloves, adult size, with banded black/red /black cuffs and pattern stitch also in black and red across the hands and thumbs. Jenny (Mrs Jack) Parker made mittens for seven individuals (five children, husband and self) while raising her family on a farm on the West Back Line near Flesherton. Mitts were used regularly on the farm with leather gloves over top of them in the winter - not just for going to town. The donor, Everett Parker, now of Toronto and Thornbury , is the peron we have to thank for this web-site. In 2004 he donated the fiunds that made it possble for the museum to purchase up-to -date computer equipment, Museum software , a digital camera, printers, scanner etc. This donation was made in honour of his parents, Jenny and Jack Parker.
